This teaching identifies the three major parts of our being: spirit, soul, and body, and gives the relationship between each. At salvation, our bodies and souls are not saved. Their salvation has been purchased but they aren’t redeemed yet. Our spirits are the only parts of us that was completely changed at salvation. The rest of the Christian life is a process of renewing our minds and then manifesting in our bodies the change that is already complete in our spirits.

09 Andrew introduces his teaching of spirit, soul and body that he gave at Living Word church in Minneapolis, MN
34 I was saved at eight years old. I know I was born-again, but then I went to church. And, I didn’t mean to, but I became a pharisee. I never quit loving God. I have sought God. I’ve tried to serve God every minute of my life, that I’m aware of. I’ve never turned in another direction, but religion led me to believe that God loved me proportional to my performance.
36 I’ve always been seeking the Lord. And the reason I say this is not to sit here and like I’m special. I’m saying that I’ve been seeking God, but I fell into the mistake of thinking God was going to answer my prayer, and love me proportional to my performance. And because of that, things weren’t working.
26 We would get together and pray, and there was this one guy, Marion Warren was our youth director. And this guy was different. I was raised in the Baptist Church, and he was different. He would go, “Hallelujah!” and he’d lift his hands. And they actually took a vote whether to kick him out of the church for being sac-religious, because nobody said hallelujah, or lifted their hands.
26 I don’t know how to describe this to you, but God just showed up supernaturally, and he pulled a veil back from me, and I instantly saw my hypocrisy and saw that everything I did was for the praises of people. I was an introvert. I couldn’t talk to a person and look at them in the face, and yet I went out and led people to the Lord every single week, because I had to do that to gain God’s acceptance. I would psyche myself up and force myself to do it. But He showed me that I didn’t care about the people. It was all about me.
41 When I saw what a hypocrite I was, and how relative to God, I was so ungodly. I expected God to kill me. And I honestly thought that he was going to kill me. I was petrified. I just started praying. I mean I turned myself inside out, and I confessed. Again, I hadn’t done that many actions, but boy I confessed every lust, every thought I’d ever had, all of the things I had spoken against people.
05 Instead of wrath and punishment, I had a tangible love of God come on me. And, for four and a half months, I was caught up in the presence of God.
59 It’s faith that pleases God. And God wants you to get to know Him by faith.
37 God is meek and lowly in heart. He doesn’t promote himself. God does not want you to live on just an emotional plane like this.
03 One of the big problems that I had, was that I couldn’t understand why or how God loved me, because I didn’t deserve it. And I realized, more than I think most people did, because I’d had this experience where I’d seen the glory of God, and I realized that I didn’t deserve it.
46 Here’s some real simple passages of Scripture. (2 Corinthians 5:17,18) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us [unto God by himself]…
34 And the Lord showed me that it’s not talking about your physical body, and it’s not talking about your soul. There is a third part of us called the spirit, and it’s in the spirit that you become a new person, not in your body, and not in your soul. (2 Corinthians 5:17,18)
56 Most people only acknowledge 2 parts. It’s obvious that you’ve got a physical body. Everybody is aware of that. And it’s obvious that you’ve got an inner person.
